Act as chair of your trustee board if required
Co-ordinate the relationships between the trustee board, employer and scheme advisers
Bring industry best practice and experience of other schemes to benefit the discussions at your trustee meetings
Ensure a proportionate approach is taken to assessing the employer covenant, and how that flows into funding and investment discussions
Bring experience of negotiating appropriate scheme funding strategies with the sponsoring employer
Set appropriate investment strategies reflecting the circumstances of the scheme, and the investment risk attitudes of the trustees and employer
Guide the trustee board through any interaction with the Pensions Regulator
Establish and maintain appropriate governance procedures covering issues such as conflicts of interest, risk register and trustee effectiveness reviews
Draft communications to improve member engagement with the scheme
Provide secretarial services covering all aspects of meeting preparation and follow up, including the drafting of minutes
Monitor adviser fees and service levels and run adviser review processes where needed
Bring experience to the trustee board on one-off exercises such as corporate activity, liability management exercises or bulk annuity/consolidation transactions
Provide trustee training on current issues
